5,000+ Happy Clients

SunSmart installer fitting a replacement window from inside a DFW home

Who this is for

  • Homeowners with single-pane or builder-grade windows that never sealed properly
  • Anyone watching the summer cooling bill climb while rooms stay uneven, room to room
  • Owners of foggy double-pane windows where the seal between the panes has failed
  • Homeowners preparing to sell, who want the curb appeal back before it's listed

What's included

  • A free in-home consultation — materials, energy performance, and value explained before price
  • Precision measurement of every opening, so the window is built to your house and not the other way round
  • Double-pane glass with a Low-E coating and argon fill
  • Full-frame installation — the whole frame, not an insert dropped into the old one
  • Sealing and finish detail at each opening
  • Floors and furniture covered before the crew starts; clean-up when they're done

The short version

What actually makes a replacement window energy-efficient

ComponentWhat it does
Double-pane glassTwo panes with a sealed space between them, instead of a single sheet of glass conducting heat straight through the wall.
Low-E coatingA microscopically thin coating that reflects heat while letting light through — it keeps Texas summer heat out and winter warmth in.
Argon fillA safe, invisible gas sealed between the panes. It insulates better than plain air, and you will never know it's there.
Full-frame installationReplacing the whole frame rather than the sash alone, so the opening gets sealed correctly instead of hiding an old, leaking frame behind a new one.

What the EPA says

Replacing old windows with ENERGY STAR certified windows lowers household energy bills by an average of up to 13 percent nationwide when replacing single-pane windows.
ENERGY STAR, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency

That's a national average from the EPA, not a promise about your house — what you actually save depends on what you're replacing and how well it was sealed to begin with. It's the honest starting point for a conversation, which is why we'd rather show you the numbers than quote you a headline. ENERGY STAR sets its bar with U-Factor and Solar Heat Gain Coefficient targets that vary by climate zone, so in Texas, rejecting summer heat matters as much as holding warmth in winter.

Good questions

Questions we get asked about this

The things DFW homeowners want to know before they commit.

  • We replace the full frame, because that's the only way the opening itself gets sealed. An insert leaves the original frame in place; if that frame was never sealed correctly, or has taken on water, an insert hides the problem behind a new window instead of fixing it. At your consultation we'll show you what your openings are actually doing.
